Our Skiing and Snow Boarding Day Out
It all started at 6:15am in the morning. All the students were huddled in the office, ready to get on the bus.
After we had all loaded our bags into the bus, we clambered abroad and got ready for the 1 and a half hour drive to Mt. Hutt.
The mountains were really steep but we eventually reached the top and unloaded all our gear, and it was really cold!
We all headed into the hire room and loaded up on boards and skis, and our boots, poles and helmets. We then headed out onto the snow for our lessons!
The lessons were from 9 till 10:30am, and it was split into beginners and advanced. We then stopped for a snack and then we were allowed to go wherever we wanted.
A lot of kids went up on the QUAD (A machine that carries 4 people per carriage up the hill.) and a few of them went up on the Summit Six. Some of the children bravely went up onto the really advanced slopes!
Unfortunately, some kids got injured. Badly! Jacob Collins-Craig broke his wrist and suffered from severe concussion. Rosie Grieg suffered from soft-tissue damage in her knee, which has put her on crutches. But we are happy to have them back at school and smiling again.
The day was really hot despite the snow and everyone had heaps of fun. Something annoying was that if you left your lunch unattended for 5 minutes, one of the pesky kea’s would steal it!
My favourite moment was when I was given my Golden Ski Pass to go up on any of the slopes. All in all we had a great day and everyone was exhausted and couldn’t wait to get their boots off and chill out. It was a quiet and sleepy trip back to school.

How an Electric Circuit works
An electric circuit is a device that turns on a light bulb using a series of objects where the electricity flows. Electrical circuits are useful in everyday life.
It all starts at the battery. Batteries have a positive ( + ) and a negative ( - ) side, where two wires are connected. The electricity flows through these wires which must be connected, and through a series of conductors and/or insulators. Conductors are materials - metals - of which conduct energy; and on the other hand insulators e.g. plastics don't conduct electricity. For an electric circuit to work it mustn't contain insulators.
Now, the electricity comes to the switch. The switch may be open, or it may be in the closed position. For the electricity to pass through, the switch must be closed so it can flow through the switch to more wires and/or conductors.
Finally, if the circuit has been successful so far; the light bulb should turn on. The electricity has started at the battery, continued down wires and/or conductors, through a closed switch in a split second to the bulb. It happens so fast because the electricity has been travelling at the speed of light - the fastest existing pace. This procedure happens every time you turn your light on and off; pretty fast, isn’t it?
In conclusion, electric circuits carry electricity through a circuit and to a bulb, which will turn on if the circuit has been successful. They are used in everyday life.

Why Do We Need Exercise?
Exercise is an important part of life and health. Today I am going to explain the importance of exercise.
My first point is your body image. Your body image can say a lot about you. You could have big muscles, you could be skinny, plump, athletic, wide, thin, any shape or size can show how active your life is. Although you need to rest your muscles for at least one day a week, you should still try get the most out of the rest of the week.
Secondly, your health is very important. Health is a key point in exercise. Although your health improves through exercise, leading a healthier life is easier if your health is already good. Part of being healthy is your diet. You should have 5+ fruit and vegetables a day and always choose water or milk before sugary drinks e.g. juice of fizzy. Sugar can be good as well to give you energy, but don't have too much.
Thirdly, your body. When you run around or do a fitness activity, your breathing fastens. When you breathe fast (puff), your heart beat quickens. Because your heart beats faster, it gets your blood pumping around your body faster. Fresh air is better than stuffy air inside. Also when you’re exercising, oxygen pumps into your brain which keeps your brain healthy. You have to look after your body well, because you only have one of them. Stretching is also important. If you don't stretch your muscles, they will become sore and will be uncomfortable next time you're outside exercising.
In conclusion, I believe that exercise is very important for you and your health. Different people like different sports and as long as you do get some time outside, it doesn't matter what sport you play.

Great descriptions!
Sam
Nervously Sam awaits in the elevator when this fine looking lady enters. Sam takes a deep breath in and is worried to let it out. His face turns blood red, He awkwardly loosens his tie to allow him to breath. Sam can feel the sweat drip right from the top of his forehead down to the glossy ground. Pools of sweat are made surrounding his rather large leather shoes. He slightly but smoothly circles his feet in the pool of sweat to attempt in drying them out.
STOMP! Sam’s clumsiness really isn’t helping him right now, as he just about fell over while trying to get rid of the sweat. He has no bit of confidence in himself at all. He couldn’t even let out a wee smile as she entered. Sam can’t help but stand there hesitating about whether he should approach her or not.
Sam’s bold licorice like eyes flicker like the dim lights in the elevator. His eyebrow game is strong, he’s praying deep inside hoping she won’t turn around. Sam’s face flushes red as the lady in there flinches her left leg. Sam’s slim body is accompanied by a perfectly fitted suit that looks very formal. His pale skin is slowly coming back to life. Sam takes a sniff of the powerful whiff of the perfume that is scented on her neck. He stays. Embracing the smell. Mmmm Yum. Woosh! At last the elevator has come to a stop, all the tension just flows out the door smoothly and gently.

Sam
Nervously,Sam steps into the rickety elevator, his tall figure leans up against harsh metal side. Beep! The elevator stops suddenly and in walks the beautiful bring of Maddi. Her soft luscious hair sits perfectly on her petite shoulders.
Clumsily, Sam tries to work up the courage to talk to her, but his goofy smile won't let out any words. He freezes up, his already pale skin goes a lighter unhealthy white. To shy to speak, he finds his mahogany eyes steering into hers. As aqua as the deep blue sea.
Timidly, he fiddles with his checkered tie as he speedily steps out of the elevator and into the hurricane that is his office. As frightened as a chicken he takes a seat at his desk. He looks out the window and starts to steer, dreaming about what could be out there and what adventures awaits.
